Dollar cost averageing, also known as DCA, this is a technique where investors purchase a certain dollar amount of investments regularly without regard to the actual price per share of the investment. So if someone wants to use dollar cost averaging and invest five hundred dollars every six months and they buy whatever they can at the time that would be considered a DCA.
