What is basis point?
The basis point is a form of measurement also known as the BPS, that is equal to one one-hundredth of one percent. The basis point is used to calculate the change in equity indexes, interest rates and fixed-income securities. One basis point is equal to 0.01%. Basis points are simply used as a simpler way to talk about these small changes.
